bar with Caleb Solberg, 30, and another friend in the small town of Pisgah, Iowa on December 17, 2020, the Des Moines Register reports.
But events took a quick turn when Erlbacher spread mayo on Solberg’s food, which sparked a bar fight, during which a furious Erlbacher called Solberg’s half-brother, Craig Pryor, and threatened to set Solberg’s house on fire and shoot him.
Pryor arrived at Dave’s Old Home in Pisgah, where another argument had started until Erlbacher got into his truck and rammed into Pryor’s, before running down Solberg. It is believed that initially Erlbacher drove away but according to the verdict written by District Judge Greg Steensland, the first "blow" wasn't fatal so Erlbacher returned to finish him off.The verdict said: "Erlbacher’s first blow to Solberg did not kill him.
He can be heard screaming for his brother, Craig Pryor.“Rather than just leave, Erlbacher went down the street, turned around, and came back to strike Solberg a second time. "To be sure he had completed the job, Erlbacher drove his truck up and over Solberg one last time.”For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.Erlbacher then drove off, but his truck broke down a short while later.
