It was supposed to be the start of a roaring ’20s for a new century. A rollout of vaccines in the first half of 2021 would help crush the COVID-19 pandemic and return the world to as close to “normal” as possible.
And for a month or two, it was idyllic. People partied, visited family members they hadn’t seen in over a year, and traveled overseas for some much-needed R&R.
That was until the Delta Variant swept through most of the United States thanks to a swath of Americans who refused to get vaccinated.
