BBC Strictly Come Dancing star says 2024 final is 'not a fix' and names winner

A former Strictly Come Dancing star has defended the show from 'fix' claims after complaints that 'trained dancers' had made it through to the final.

After 13 weeks, just four couples remain in the BBC One dance contest, and only one will be lifting the coveted Glitterball trophy on Saturday (December 14) during the last week of the 2024 run of the competition.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, she said: "I spotted Sarah right at the beginning with her amazing pointed foot and her background in whatever dance she's done, probably ballet.
