IT’S a long-awaited comeback – and Peaky Blinders fans will be thrilled to hear the new series comes with a bonus. The final season is set to start later this month on BBC1 and will coincide with a BBC2 documentary looking at the real-life gangsters who inspired the drama.
Over two episodes, the Real Peaky Blinders will look at the tribal warfare that characterised Victorian Birmingham in the late 1800s.
A TV insider said: “This will be a treat for devotees of the drama, some of whom may not have been aware that it was based on a true story. “Though the gangs which inspired the Shelby clan are different in many ways, the similarities are fascinating and in many cases quite shocking. “The documentary is a fitting way to help mark the end of the Peaky Blinders TV phenomenon which has hooked viewers for the past nine years.” The gripping drama began in 2013.
Cillian Murphy plays Thomas Shelby, leader of the ruthless family firm that dominated an industrial corner of Birmingham in the Edwardian era. @font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:400;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:500;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The.
