BBC Breakfast viewers have slammed 'dull' Charlie Stayt - as they moaned they'd had to 'switch off' over his interviews. Charlie, 60, was broadcasting live from the banks of the River Thames in London today as the show covered the huge queues of people patiently waiting to go and see the Queen lying in state.

Meanwhile co-host Nina Warhurst was in the BBC Breakfast studio in Salford, standing in for Naga Munchetty, who was absent from today's show.

Back at Westminster, Charlie was seen speaking to members of the public who had been queuing for hours to pay their respects to the Queen, who died last Thursday aged 96.

However, the segment soon began to annoy viewers at home, with one writing on Twitter alongside a screenshot of Charlie: "This bloke is literally the worse news presenter I’ve EVER seen!!!
