BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker has revealed his last day on the morning show will be May 17.Dan joined his co-star Sally Nugent as he revealed he had some news to share and confirmed he can finally say the date he will be leaving - and it's soon.
He said: "May 17th is my last day, so two weeks today," while Sally shared her upset as she added: "That's not many shifts!"Speaking about his decision to leave, Dan said: "It was a big decision, I thought about it quite a lot.
It's a hard one as well. "The other thing I want to say is thank you to everybody who has sent so many messages. One thing I have realised is this programme means an awful lot to people. "I've realised how special this show is and how much everybody who watches it loves it, so thank you very much to everyone who has said incredible and lovely things." Sally reaffirmed: "Well you've been a part of people's lives for the last six years every morning, with news, travel and weather and things going wrong - sometimes when things go wrong it's the best bit, surely!" Dan told Sally that he does love when things go wrong on air as she asked him if they would be having a leaving party for the star, but he didn't seem too up for the event.
However, Sally ignored him entirely as she said: "I don't know why I asked you that question, we're going to have a leaving party.
