Sally Nugent was announced as Louise Minchin’s replacement on BBC Breakfast in late 2021.The journalist and presenter, 50, has been a fan favourite since she took over alongside Dan Walker, though less is known about her personal life.

Sally was born on the Wirral, near Liverpool and has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and French from the University of Huddersfield.

She began her career at BBC Radio Merseyside before moving on to report on sports news on BBC North West Tonight.The TV journalist had been freelancing on BBC Breakfast since 2011, filling in when hosts were unavailable, before finally stepping in full time at the start of 2022.

The mum-of-one keeps her family’s identity secret so little is known about her husband or child and there are no pictures of them on her Instagram page.
