Backlash as Tampax advert banned after viewers complain it was 'offensive'

A number of people have taken to social media to vent after a Tampax advert was banned in Ireland. The Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI) decided to take down the TV ad that discussed how tampons should be inserted after 84 members of the public complained.

The Tampax ‘Tampons and Tea’ ad - which is still being aired in England - sees a host sit down with a guest in a chat show set-up.

The host character asks the audience: "Tell me, how many of you ever feel your tampon?" After her guest raises her hand, she says: "You shouldn’t.
