Defiant Aymeric Laporte has vowed not to hide following the defensive horror show that led to Manchester City ’s Champions League exit.
The Spanish defender spoke out with his expensively-assembled side and boss Pep Guardiola vilified for their failure to go beyond the quarter-final stage yet again.
Laporte had been fouled by Moussa Dembele before the Lyon substitute went on to beat the offside trap and score their second in the 3-1 win.
Laporte said: “Just to be clear: I will not hide, I'm a football player but a man foremost, we all made mistakes in this game, and I also take my responsibility for the bad team performance tonight. “But this decision is hard to accept, especially in a crucial qualifier AND with the help of VAR.” Laporte
