Armed police scoured the countryside for a “wild big cat” only to discover it was a sculpture. Juliet Simpson built the tiger artwork out of chicken wire and resin in her garden 20 years ago.
The first she knew of the sharpshooters advancing on her property was when her son Duncan called and said there were armed police swarming on the hill leading to her house, reports the Guardian.
Juliet, 85, kept her cool as she strolled over to officers and cheekily joked: “Do you want to be introduced to this tiger?” Once the hilarious misunderstanding was cleared up a relieved cop admitted that some people’s imaginations might be playing tricks on them after hours spent binge-watching the Netflix smash-hit Tiger King.
