BBC's Antique Roadshow.The guest revealed to expert John Benjamin that she took the brooch to some jewellers for valuation and was told that it was worth nothing.In the episode, she presents the large blue sapphire in its original box cushioned by 22 sparkling white stones.John says: "Now when we were sitting at the table back there you said to me, 'I've got a brooch that’s always been known as the big blue blob'."And sure enough when you see it residing there in this case, it’s a big blue blob."The guest then explains the history of the item, adding: "I inherited it from my grandmother, who gave it to my father, who gave it to me to wear on my wedding day, which I did."Some people said it was paste, some people said they weren’t real.
