London flat after her neighbours had complained of a “horrific stench” for two years.Her body was uncovered following a police search of her flat on St Mary’s Road in Peckham on Friday (February 18).The property had a letterbox overflowing with letters, and the woman owed thousands of pounds worth of rent, MyLondon reports.The woman's neighbours had repeatedly reported a foul smell to the landlord and their housing association since October 2019.Despite the complaints but police did not search the property until this week.One woman, who lives next door, told The Sun: "They told me she was basically a skeleton and asked me to confirm her ethnicity."It’s disgusting.

I’m just shocked. I didn’t know her very well but she would sometimes collect my deliveries. "I came back from a trip abroad in September or October 2019 when I noticed a horrific stench in the building.

It was so bad, I had to put a towel under the door."We repeatedly called the housing association because it was weird. The police came but they said lots of people had moved out of London during the pandemic and she could be abroad." According to MyLondon, in 2020 a neighbour reported a forced entry notice for a routine gas check on her front door, following an increasing pile of unchecked mail.
