Hamilton chairman Allan Maitland has signalled that his club would vote against temporary reconstruction as it would only serve to "save Hearts ".
Jambos supremo Ann Budge, along with Hamilton's own vice-chairman Les Gray, is at the head of a task force looking at expanding the SPFL to ensure no relegation across the divisions.
She wants to see a 14 team top flight - but only for one season before reverting to the current 12 team model. For that to pass 11 Premiership clubs would have to agree and as things stand that looks an impossible task.
Speaking on the Only Accies podcast, the Hamilton chief was asked what benefit reconstruction would have for the Lanarkshire club.
