Historical social media activity has resurfaced showing Angus Gunn liking a tweet poking fun at Scotland just 24 hours before he is set to be named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and Spain.Despite Thurso-born dad Bryan representing Scotland six times, the 27-year-old Norwich City keeper played for England right through the youth ranks and was included in Gareth Southgate’s senior set up five years ago.
So it’s perhaps no real surprise that he was cheering on the Three Lions during Euro 2020 given he trained alongside many members of the squad that made it all the way to the final.
However, what might not go down so well after switching allegiances is liking a tweet showing support for England which aimed a jibe at Scotland.
A tweet from ODDSbible which read: "Football = Coming home, Scotland = Going Home" with a picture of Three Lions boss Southgate was liked by Gunn’s account.
