Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho played a role in Scott McTominay choosing to represent Scotland, according to former boss Alex McLeish.
McTominay has scored four goals in his last two matches for the national team, with Steve Clarke's side securing a 3-0 victory over Cyprus on Saturday before defeating Spain 2-0 on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old midfielder grabbed a brace off the bench in the win at the weekend, before scoring twice in the shock triumph over the Spaniards.
The United man, who has made 38 appearances for the national side, registering five goals, was born in England, but qualifies for Scotland through his father.
