Lyndon Dykes reckons the scuttling of Spain is right up there with the shootout in Serbia in his Scotland showreel. Steve Clarke’s side 2-0 Hampden win over Las Roja sent shockwaves across Europe on Tuesday night.
The talisman striker has savoured some massive nights since he won his first international cap in 2020. The big one was seeing off the Serbs to end Scotland’s 23 year wait to get back to a major finals.
That put the Scots back on the world map but Dykes reckons the win over Group A favourites Spain - who are 10th in the world ranking - was another major statement of intent.
It shows Steve Clarke’s side are continuing to grow in stature and have now taken that next step up to mix it with the world’s top sides.
