Andy Robertson admits he has been thrust into a more prominent leadership role this season due to Liverpool's injury crisis.
The Reds are currently without their captain Jordan Henderson, who underwent groin surgery last month, and vice-captain James Milner has suffered a number injuries.
Virgil van Dijk is third in line for the armband but has been missing since October, when he suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the Merseyside derby.
Other key members of the squad including Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are also sidelined for the long term, and Robertson has been one of very few Liverpool players to avoid injury this season.
