Alison Hammond reportedly initially turned down her new role as a TV presenter on This Morning with Dermot O'Leary before eventually accepting.The 45 year old was offered the incredible job back in November, just months after sources revealed ITV were looking to hire a black presenter as part of their "diversity acceleration plan".
However, Mail on Sunday have now claimed the star first declined the opportunity out of fear that it would be perceived as "tokenism," which left her feeling "uncomfortable".
An insider told the publication that Alison was happy to remain as an entertainment reporter and interview Hollywood stars, but ITV editor Martin Frizell persuaded her to take on the promotion.
