Alice Levine has announced she will be leaving BBC Radio 1. The 34 year old, who hosts a weekend afternoon show with Dev Griffin, will present her last show on Sunday August 9.
Her departure from the station will mark nine years since she started, co-hosting a 10pm until midnight show with Phil Taggart.
In an emotive Instagram post, Alice shared snaps of her Radio 1 highlights alongside co-workers Dev, Phil, Clara Amfo, Matt Edmondson, Greg James, Chris Stark, Scott Mills and Nick Grimshaw. "End of an era" she wrote. "I've decided it's the right time for me to hang up the headphones (not a thing) and say goodbye to Radio 1." She dubbed her co-workers "friends for life", and said they are "the funniest, smartest and most hardworking"
