The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said they received a 999 call at 3.15pm reporting 'a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian.' The air ambulance, as well as a road ambulance and two rapid response vehicles all, attended.
An NWAS spokesman confirmed the pedestrian involved was a child. It is not yet known if anyone has been taken to hospital. However at this stage it is not believed there are any serious injuries.
