Arsenal have informed Ainsley Maitland-Niles that he will be made available for transfer this summer in order to raise funds to strengthen other areas of Mikel Arteta's squad.
Maitland-Niles has impressed in various roles, including full-back on both sides, defensive midfielder and more attacking positions but never been able to hold down a place.
His displays against Manchester City and Chelsea in the Gunners' victorious FA Cup campaign convinced some that he had a future at the club.
Against City in particular, Maitland-Niles excelled in defence, nullifying the threat of the dangerous Riyad Mahrez.With three years left on his current deal, the Hale End academy product has not been pushing to leave and recently spoke of his determination.
