Actress Jodie Turner-Smith slams monarchy for not taking Meghan Markle opportunity

Actress Jodie Turner-Smith has spoken out against the Royal family saying they have missed a huge chance to refresh their reputation.

The actress, who is playing Anne Boleyn in the new Channel 5 series of the same name, says the monarchy isn’t changing ‘quickly enough’.

When asked by The Telegraph whether the Duchess of Sussex could have been the one to modernise the Royals, she replied: "I think that Meghan could have been that." The actress went on to say: "It was a terrible missed opportunity, the way in which it was not allowed to be something that really modernises that institution, and to change it to something for the better.
