A further 214 deaths involving coronavirus have been recorded in the UK in the last 24 hours, along with more than 37,000 new cases.
The UK death toll now stands at 141,395, according to the government, after a further 214 people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show there have been 166,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government also confirmed another 37,269 Covid-19 cases in the UK in the last 24 hours. Daily figures from the NHS shows that a further 107 people who tested positive for Covid-19 died in hospitals in England.
