Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Popular Lanarkshire cinema reopens as events return to town hall

The cinema at Airdrie town hall is reopening next month for the first time since the original coronavirus lockdown 18 months ago.Showings of Christmas concerts and ballet will the the first screenings at Sir John Wilson town hall on Stirling Street – while the venue is also set to host a comedy night and a festive favourite show by local entertainer JJ Gilmour.

Both of the latter events will be staged in the lesser town hall on the building’s first floor, as the main town hall space is in long-term use by NHS Lanarkshire as a COVID-19 vaccination centre.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
