5 Seconds of Summer star Michael Clifford has issued a grovelling apology on Twitter. The guitarist, 24, apologised for offensive tweets in 2012 and he denied sex assault allegations which were swirling.
Twitter users accused the boybander of writing sexist, misogynist jokes about women belonging in the kitchen in 2012 and homophobic tweets using the F-word.
Screenshots were circulating of what Michael was said to have written eight years ago. In a stream of foul-mouthed tweets, the musician said sorry to his fans for the tweets.
The guitarist urged he was a "different person now with a much better understanding of the world" in an apology to his 10.3million Twitter followers.
