New Manchester City signing Yan Couto has revealed that Pep Guardiola wished him luck upon completing his transfer to the Etihad.
Couto was announced as a City player on the morning of the Carabao Cup final, having signed a five-year contract for a fee that could rise to over £10million.
City had been tracking the promising defender in his native Brazil for over two years and decided to move to secure his signature after he impressed as his country won the Under-17 World Cup in November last year.
However, Spanish giants Barcelona had sprung ahead of the Blues and already had a deal agreed with Couto's club Coritiba, which encouraged City to go on the charm offensive.
