Two women who refused to self-isolate after coming back from a trip in Spain have been hit with a £1,000 fine. The pair, from Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, reportedly continued their normal day-to-day life after returning from their long-weekend holiday, ignoring quarantine rules.
Under current measures put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19, anyone coming back from Spain has to self isolate for 14 days.
But police said the women did not self-isolate and for this reason they were hit with a £1,000 fine each, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Police said one of the holidaymakers attended a 'non-urgent' hospital appointment when she returned home and the other went to work, lying to her employer about returning from abroad.
