an "historic" legal case, a woman has been found guilty of sexual assault after sabotaging her partner's condoms without his knowledge or consent.In handing down the ruling, Judge Astrid Salewski said the unusual case was one for Germany's legal history books.

It’s the first time that a woman has been found guilty of “stealthing” during sex.The accused, a 39-year-old woman from the in the western German city of Bielefeld was in a "friends with benefits" relationship with a 42-year-old man.The two reportedly met online in early 2021 and initially embarked a "no strings" sexual relationship.However, over time the woman decided she wanted more from the relationship – something the man told her he wasn’t interested in.Some time after that, a regional court in Bielefeld heard this week, the woman began poking holes in the condoms he kept in his bedside table, hoping that she might fall pregnant and force the relationship onto another level.According to German newspaper Bild, the plan was unsuccessful and the woman didn’t get pregnant.However, she sent him a message on WhatsApp, claiming that she was pregnant — and revealing that she had deliberately damaged the condoms.The man reported the incident to local police, and the case ended up in court where Judge Astrid Salewski said "We have written legal history here today”.Initially, the woman had been charged with rape, but after careful examination the charge was revised to one of “stealthing – the act of deliberately removing a condom during sex without a partner’s consent.While this has up to know been seen as something that men do, "This provision also applies in the reverse case” the judge said after he decision.
