A woman has hailed Dr Michael Mosley's Fast 800 diet after the plan helped her shed almost 5 stone. Jill O'Connell, 65, had been yo-yo dieting most of her life, giving various fads a go over the years before piling the weight back on as soon as she returned to a more regular and sustainable routine.

But after being urged by her physio to shed weight due to arthritis in her knee, she managed to changed her life around. Finding out about The Fast 800 through a friend who has seen huge success, the Dr Michael Mosley diet helped Jill shed a stone and a half in just four weeks, with her total loss now more than four and a half stone just a year and a half later.The diet took Jill by surprise, with the plan urging her to swap reduced-fat and processed foods for full-fat products while encouraging her to add 'proper butter' when cooking meals, despite previous diets warning her not to.

The strict diet saw Jill consume 800 calories per day for 12 weeks, swapping to a relatively low-card Mediterranean-style diet after that period, with emphasis on lean protein sources and vegetables. "Having this complete lifestyle overhaul really made me review how I'd been doing everything wrong in the past," Jill told the Mirror. "I was accustomed to having low-fat spreads, semi-skimmed milk, and diet drinks. "However, since joining the programme, I was encouraged to drink full-fat milk and proper butter.

I can say that I honestly didn't feel hungry and I think it was because I was eating 'the good stuff' rather than processed foods and added sugars and fat.
