A woman was arrested in Bolton today on suspicion of the murder of University of Salford student Aya Hachem. Aya, 19, who was studying law and had just sat her second year exams, died from a gunshot wound to the chest in Blackburn on Sunday, May 17.
The 33-year-old woman, from Bolton, was detained in the area on Wednesday afternoon. She was arrested on suspicion of Aya's murder and the attempted murder of a man.
The woman is being questioned in custody. She is the fifteenth person to be arrested as part of the investigation.
