Children and families at a Lanarkshire nursery celebrated Christmas with a specially-created winter wonderland in their much-loved forest space.Staff at Our Lady & St Joseph’s nursery in Glenboig set up the memorable outdoor celebration with a range of festive activity stations for youngsters to enjoy with their parents and loved ones.They enjoyed toasting marshmallows over a campfire, created crafty keepsakes, posed in a photo booth and enjoyed a visit from Santa.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Early years principal lead Mari Carr told Lanarkshire Live: “It’s about the experiences provided; we wanted to capture what Christmas is truly about and put our children and families at the heart of our event.” Youngsters at the Glenboig nursery also got into the Christmas spirit with breakfast and afternoon tea events with Mrs Claus to mark the end of term, including storytelling sessions and family singalongs.

The outdoor Christmas celebration at Our Lady & St Joseph’s follows the success of the nursery’s first-ever forest celebration in June in honour of the youngsters leaving to move up to primary school.
