Wigan man completes third leg of gruelling challenge across the globe

A man from Wigan has completed the South American leg in the gruelling 'Ultimate Seven Project'. Oli France, 34, is undertaking the challenge in which he must go to the highest and lowest points on every continent.

Oli, from Wigan, has now finished the third of the seven legs in the challenge after cycling to the lowest point and climbing to the highest point in South America.

He told how he felt like he had been "cycling into treacle" in extreme winds and low oxygen environments. The 34-year-old completed the first leg of the immense challenge in Africa in September 2023.

Olie cycled across Lac Assal in Dijibouti, then climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. In May 2024 he would go on to complete the second leg of his challenge.
