Royal Family have been doing things differently for several generations. The Queen and her family always swap gifts a day before Christmas Day, a tradition thought to be a nod to their German heritage.They are believed to have followed this tradition since 1841, after Queen Victoria married Prince Albert.Royal expert Robert Jobson explained the tradition, telling The Express that the Queen, her grandchildren and great-children put the finishing touches on their 20ft Christmas tree in the White Drawing Room on Christmas Eve, and then open presents together at tea time.
