Norman Hartnell wedding gown, the tiara was borrowed from the Queen - as is customary for a royal wedding. But this particular tiara, the Queen Mary’s Fringe tiara, was the one the Queen herself wore on her wedding day in 1947.It was created by Garrard in 1919 for Queen Mary (Beatrice’s great-grandmother) using diamonds from another tiara that she had been given as a wedding gift.
