Erik ten Hag may be displeased with John Murtough's latest January transfer window comments, as Manchester United's football director poured cold water over the prospect of any further spending.
United's summer transfer window saw six new players arrive and £225million spent. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka all arrived at Old Trafford.
The biggest fees paid out were for Antony (£85.5m), Casemiro (£60m) and Martinez (£56m) - all of whom will ultimately help bolster United's starting XI, alongside Malacia (£14.9m) and Eriksen (free). ALSO READ: Why United have seen net debt and operating loss increase Murtough recently gave an update on the club's transfer plans, during which he said: "Overall, we are ahead of schedule in our recruitment plans as envisaged at the start of the summer, and we do not anticipate the same level of activity in future windows.
As always, our planning focuses on the summer window." This caution from Murtough, however, will perhaps not sit too well with Ten Hag.
