Erik ten Hag has hailed Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw for their “good combinations” in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Omonia on Thursday.
A Scott McTominay strike in the third minute of stoppage time bailed the hosts out of an embarrassing draw, with visiting goalkeeper Francis Uhozo in inspired form.
Sancho grabbed the assist for the winner, showing composure while being pressed before delivering the cross. Sancho was brought off at half-time in last week’s reverse fixture in Cyprus before being benched against Everton on Sunday.
Luke Shaw earned his first Premier League start since August 13 against the Toffees and replaced Tyrell Malacia for the final 30 minutes on Thursday. "Of course, the one performance [against Omonia] is better than the other one, that is clear,” he said. “But you see today, he had an impact, some good dribbles and good combinations with Luke Shaw.
