Newcastle boss Eddie Howe praises three Manchester United players ahead of Premier League clash

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has hailed Manchester United as having “outstanding players” and praised three midfielders ahead of their visit to Old Trafford on Sunday.

The visitors will be without a number of players including Jonjo Shelvey and summer signing Alexander Isak but Allan Saint-Maximin is in contention for selection.

The Magpies are enjoying a rich vein of form, currently four games unbeaten. They have netted nine times in their last two matches and come into the fixture having had a full week’s rest following their 5-1 thrashing of Brentford on Saturday.

Howe said he found watching United’s game against Omonia on Thursday “useful” ahead of the clash.
