Who should get a coronavirus test? Everyone who is eligible as R rate climbs to 1.4

The difficulty in finding coronavirus tests has been infuriated many. Thousands of people have been told their nearest testing slot is hundreds of miles away, or found that they can't access a test at all.

The problems have come as the UK's R rate climbed to 1.4, with the number of cases doubling every seven days. The government has come under increasing pressure over the coronavirus testing shambles, with people being turned away from centres across the country and having to self-isolate for days, not knowing if they're Covid-19 positive or not.

Earlier this week, Mirror Online revealed that it was not possible to book tests in 15 of the 20 areas with the highest infection rates in England.
