Britney Spears will make her first court appearance over her conservatorship on Wednesday June 23. It’s been an exhaustive journey for the Gimme More singer who was first placed under the conservatorship in 2008 at the height of her mental health struggles.
A court put her father, Jamie Spears, in control of her personal affairs and finances indefinitely, but he now manages her money alongside a bank.
Britney, 39, is reportedly fighting to be freed from the conservatorship in order to finally take care of her own wellbeing.
It has emerged that Britney wanted to have her father removed as a conservator as far back as 2016. Scrutiny of Britney’s conservatorship mounted earlier this year following release of the documentary, Framing Britney.
