Hollywood superstar Bruce Willis is taking a step back from his acting career after being diagnosed with aphasia.The 67-year-old is suffering from the brain condition which has impacted on his cognitive abilities.Bruce's daughter took to social media to share the upsetting news, thanking family, friends and fans for the support during a “really challenging time".
The condition leads to a person experiencing difficulty with their language or speech. It is usually caused by damage to the left side of the brain - for example after a person suffers a stroke.
However, aphasia can also be caused by progressive neurological conditions - such as dementia - as well as a severe brain injury.
