London has been evacuated today after reports of a fire.Police and fire crews rushed to scene as shoppers were told to leave the precinct in East London.Firefighters scrambled to the popular shopping destination earlier this morning.In video footage from the evacuation, dozens of people could be seen standing outside the shopping hub as fire crews deal with the emergency callout.A Met Police spokesman said: "We are supporting London Fire Brigade with evacuation of the Westfield Shopping Centre in Newham following reports of a fire".Around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines rushed to the shopping centre.
It is not currently clear what caused the fire.Footage posted to social media showed smoke in one part of the centre.One Twitter user.
