bitter -7 degree weather just hours after being released from hospital was told to ‘have hot drinks’ to keep warm.Catherine McInnes was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after suffering a suspected heart attack in Carluke town centre on January 5.The 42-year-old was kept in overnight and discharged the following evening with medication to help keep her heart rate down and strict instructions to rest.But when she returned to her home she found that her boiler had broken down - just days after it had already been ‘fixed’ by council staff.After calling the South Lanarkshire Council out-of-hours line, she was told no staff were available to help.A local self-employed plumber stepped up to help at midnight and attempted to repair the boiler.
