Vladimir Putin has flexed his military supremacy and arsenal of nuclear weapons in a chilling new threat to the West. The thermonuclear RS-24 Yars ballistic missile was displayed during rehearsals for Russia's Victory Day parade on Saturday, with the weapon driven past rows of armed soldiers on a 16-wheeler.

Experts fear the missile, which weighs almost 50 tonnes, is capable of carrying up to 10 warheads as they watched it paraded through Red Square in preparation for the event on Monday.

The intercontinental weapon can travel up to 24,500km/hr and strike targets up to 12,000km away - meaning it could reach London within minutes, the Mirror reports.
