Falkirk has been met with a heavy police presence after a large crowd of locals gathered in a local street. Video and pictures on social media shows hundreds of people crowded outside a Lidl store on Carron Road with multiple officers and riot vans in attendance.Cops descended on the gathering on Tuesday evening and remain at the scene.
Locals claim the protest was organised amid rumours that a sex offender was in the area. Police say one man has been arrested at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "On Tuesday, 9 June, 2020, police attended at a protest in Carron Road, Falkirk. "The protest is ongoing and officers remain at the scene.
