A group of volunteers are set to hit the streets of Chadderton and Werneth in the near future to try and stop the rising burglaries and thefts from cars that have been seen in the area.
The proposed patrols, led by Mohammed Imran Ali - also known as Irish Imy, have caused a lot of debate across the borough, with some residents and politicians objecting to the plans.
Despite both Oldham Council and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) sharing concerns about the patrols, Mr Ali has now confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that he intends to start his rounds
