Vernon is just one of the campmates competing this year, swapping Australia for a Welsh castle. He has left viewers impressed with a striking ring on his finger, however.
And it turns out it has quite a poignant meaning. Vernon, who is married to Tess Daly, was seen showering alongside BBC Radio One DJ Jordan North on Monday's episode.
