Venice Prizewinner, Italy’s Oscar Entry ‘Vermiglio’ Sells to Major Territories for Charades (EXCLUSIVE)

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Paris-based sales company Charades has closed deals with distributors in major territories for “Vermiglio,” Maura Delpero‘s movie which won Venice’s Silver Lion Award and was just selected as Italy’s Oscar submission.

The critically laureled film was acquired by Sideshow and Janus Films for U.S. rights following its North American premiere in Toronto, and has now been sold by Charades for the U.K. (Modern), Australia/New Zealand (Madman), Spain (Karma Films), Portugal (Leopardo Filmes), Greece (Weird Wave), Israel (Lev Cinema), Lebanon and Gulf (Moving Turtle), CIS (Exponenta), Bulgaria (MCF Megacom Film), Hungary (Mozinet Ltd), Poland (Gutek Film LTD), French-Speaking Africa (Moving Turtle) and Indonesia (Falcon). “Vermiglio” will also be released in France (Paname Distribution), Benelux (O’Brother), and in Italy where Lucky Red already did a limited release on Sept.
