A Ukrainian mum has told of the "suffering" she and her son have experienced due to the war in their homeland making them "homeless".
Lana Kostandaki, 44, is being forced to leave her home and her elderly parents due to "tension" from the conflict and is seeking a home in Edinburgh to protect her son as they have struggled to sleep due to the constant sound of "sirens and explosions".
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the mum-of-one says her "main concern" is providing a suitable education for her son, Nicholas, 14.
Lana says that in her home country there are no opportunities for work and study so she had to move to Scotland. She said: "Since the beginning of hostilities, many families have suffered and have been left homeless, and the tension in which we have had to live with in the city has led to a lot of stress."Every night we can't sleep from sirens and explosions, we sit in the corridor or in a bomb shelter from day to day just to stay protected from them.
