Today marks one full year since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began and fears remain that it could last for another. Initially, Russian President Vladimir Putin had planned to take control of the country in only a matter of days.
However, a vast amount of fighting and resistance has extended his plan indefinitely. The spark of the war has caused countries all around the world to speak out, send support, and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

The conflict explained as one-year anniversary marked Prime Minister Rishi Sunak led a national minute's silence today to mark the anniversary.
