Maps show blistering heat heading to the UK from Europe to restore sunny weather by the weekend. Temperatures will rise back to 25C next week after an unsettled week with some heavy showers and cooler, cloudier conditions.
The inclement spell came after the driest May on record brought days of warm sunshine as Brits were kept indoors during lockdown.
WxCHARTS shows warmer weather is expected to arrive from mainland Europe next weekend as it shifts westwards. Thermometers are expected to tip towards 23C in London this weekend and 25C by Tuesday next week, while beachgoers could enjoy highs of 20C in Brighton next Saturday.
